A fellow Master of Children’s Literature Student at UBC, Karen Ehrenholz is a teacher and also the founder of the BC Chocolate Lily Young Reader’s Choice Book award and she has collected a wonderful selection of B.C. books this year, for the 11th year of the award!

The B.C. Chocolate Lily Young Reader’s Choice Awards encourages grade school students to read some of the best fiction by British Columbia’s authors and illustrators. The award is designed to encourage literacy while simultaneously celebrating the many wonderful, talented, award-winning children’s authors and illustrators right here in B.C.!

Check out the Chocolate Lily Website to learn more about how you can get involved and vote!

We here at The Book Wars will be reviewing many (if not all!) of these wonderful titles, and perhaps even interviewing some of the authors! Whoo!

We hope you can join us in reading and celebrating these wonderful B.C. texts. We will make sure to categorize all related reviews under ‘Chocolate Lily Award’, so check out what we have to say right up until the winner are announced!

Cheers and Happy Reading!
